Remember those precious teenage years? Hanging out with your friends, whiling away the hours at school, traversing wormholes, etc. No? Not even on an alternate timeline? Hmm. That's what we're dealing with here in I Was a Teenage Exocolonist by Northway Games. Our character, Solcampbell, is born on the space ship traveling to found Earth's first exocolony, using a conveniently located wormhole just on the edge of our solar system. The game covers our life from age 10 to 20, involving going to school and/or work, making friends, helping the colony, and trying to survive on a planet that isn't particularly welcoming to humans.
Never send an adult to do a teenager's job. Our 13th and 14th years are showing Solcampbell isn't just another pretty face -- he's the one in this colony who gets things done. This stream includes solving the Shimmer -- the disease that threatens to turn colonists, including our dad, into fungus -- and bringing an end to the colony's food crisis.
