Custom Center Console FINISHED in My Toyota Pickup // Upholstery, Mounts, and Install
Finishing the custom sheet metal center console for my 1988 Toyota Pickup 4x4. I couldn't find any shift bezel or center console for a reasonable price so I just made my own. I'm a beginner with metal fabrication so this project was a bit daunting but it actually turned out really good and I'm super happy with it! For the upholstery I used vinyl fabric from Amazon and secured it with 3M spray adhesive and some epoxy. Even though this is my rock crawler, I still want it to be nice inside! Totally worth the effort.
As I mention in the video, I do plan to install cupholders from Caribou Offroad, and it wasn't something I overlooked in the build - just something I didn't want as part of the console. I hope this is helpful and displays that you can make something really cool with no experience or special tools.
I was heavily inspired to get in the garage and build something by @DirtLifestyle and @GrindHardPlumbingCo. Thank you both for your excellent content and for the motivation!
