A very hyped campaign for multiple reasons... the minecraft theme being the most obvious reason... but where is succeeds, it's also its own downfall...
Pros
+ Minecraft
+ Accurate minecraft weather, clouds, and sun
+ Plenty of references and "Easter Eggs"
+ Final is well constructed
+ Unique horde events
+ Mooshroom
Cons
- Minecraft
- Minecraft models are forced on you
- For what the original game can create... some areas seemed rather bland
Final Verdict
80/100
You might be wondering why I listed "Minecraft" as both a con and a pro... well that's just it... for that is exactly what it is... Minecraft is a "No-gray" area game... you either love it or hate it, no exceptions... When you make a mod based on something else for another game, generally you want to keep it as a gray area...
While I enjoyed it... I know for a fact that some people who hate minecraft never even considered giving it a chance because of how much minecraft there was in it... just as an additional example... say someone makes a campaign based on Halo... if all weapons, survivors, and enemies are reskined to be Halo accurate... the person if narrowing the possible player... Like Deathcraft 2... if the models were left as an option rather than a fact without choice... there would have been more people trying it... but this is just how I see it... let's move on to the actual map now...
All the different Youtubers featured was a nice touch (despite the appearances of some I consider unworthy...), and the detail put into the beginning and end was well made... however I feel Chapter 2-4 are the weak points... they feel less ambitious and less detailed... and rather bland... As one who as tried to make a small minecraft level before... I know it can be difficult to make something that can compete with the real thing... but that nether and ravine were just plain boring to me... but again this is just me stating an opinion... the only true cons are the forced models... other than that this is a solid fairly campaign
(And on a side note... this campaign as once again sparked an interest in me to make a minecraft map... again... so if you see anything of a minecraft survival map... don't say I didn't warn you...)
