One of the only Survival maps I can think of that should be in a survival edition... simply of how much stuff there is to cover... also because it is a survival map... the ending will be a bit different... also there won't be a double week... Cold Case is being pushed for later... time constraints and all that...
Pros
+Two maps with completely different play styles
+The most innovative and unique mechanics I have ever seen
+Placing defenses, buying weapons, recruiting L4D1 survivors
+Resource system
+Mutant powers
+Very fun too simple mess around in
Cons
-Unfair disadvantages in Sandbox survival
-Both maps are next to impossible for bots... might even be for human teams as well
-No sandbox mode in sandbox map
-Horrid Navigation (but understandable considering the obstacles with never be the same...
-Terrain is not fit for this type of gameplay
Final Verdict
85/100
The maps are some of the most innovative pieces of work I have ever seen... everything from changing the area you play to your own character with the mutagens... I have no idea how he was able to do half the stuff the accomplished... I could go on for hours about how epic it all is... but the cons for this are pretty hefty...
Starting with Sandbox survival... You start with no health items and no weapons... only a katana... and I far as I can tell, there is no way to get a gun without a bit of luck form the supply lockers... All these defense are worthless if I can't protect myself from the dozens of smokers that will inevitably come...
For Base defense... it is much more forgiving in that respect... actually allowing you to have the option to get the resources... but having no time to decide on strategies and setting up can make it very difficult to even do decent... my gripes mainly land on Snadboxes BS... but both maps share a con that is the cause of all the problems...
The map layout themselves are to blame... think of this for a second... Sandbox mode having some predefined structure to build around in... Base Defense having an infected like my map (End of the Line)... there were possibilities with these maps... but they will never happen with the map layout that currently exist...
This might be my opinion... but I strongly believe these changes could fix many of the problems here... and I will defense my points if someone can provide strong counter points...
