I've seen many Cyberpunk 2077 videos where players recommend tapping on the weapon to try to get the highest DPS value when crafting weapons. Leading us to believe that this matters and will improve the stats of the crafted weapon/armor. But in reality, tapping on a weapon to get a higher DPS value doesn't mean anything for the crafted item.

You won't get that weapon in a higher DPS nor better stats, neither when you craft to EPIC or Legendary. Nor does a weapon with a higher DPS once used to craft a legendary weapon will yield better stats or a higher DPS.
