Dancer is one of those fights where it seems you need a bunch of levels to fight her but like all bosses in this series, you really don't. I think the average level people fight dancer is normally 60-80, last time I went 100+, this time 42.

As for the fight itself, the first phase is relatively easy. Dancer has only 1 blade for this phase, blocking is not really recommended unless you got tons of stamina and are using a fire resistant shield. Even if you don't get guard broken, you'll eat a good amount of damage even if you do block successfully, unless you're using a dragon crest shield in which case you'll probably be guard broken due to it's stability.

If she jumps in this phase a simple roll and counterattack works wonderfully. Be wary though, do NOT try to do this in phase 2, as she spins after the jump with fairly quick recovery.

I wish I could tell you the secret strategy of how I learned to dodge her attacks, I really do. I just rammed my head against the wall repeatedly and tried different dodge timings in co-op honestly. If you're really desperate you can usually dodge backwards, unless she's poking at you. Be warned it's not 100% dodging backwards but her swords are not REALLY long so normally you can.

The one thing to remember is at around 50% (or 60-70% in co-op) she'll release a bunch of ash, this signals phase 2 is starting. Unless you do a butt-load of damage she always does her spin to win technique. If you have trouble getting away, try using the pillars in the corner of the room, normally you can either get her stuck or at least circle around the opposite way.

At this point Dancer will have 2 blades, and her attacks get a LOT more lethal from this point on. What used to be a single strike turns into two. (which can easily kill.) One thing to be aware of, if you see her hunched over and doing a little twirl jump, GET AWAY NOW! Even if you're behind her, she'll turn around and probably hit you with 5-6 combo spelling you guessed it death semi instantly.

As a mage, just use fast spells, great heavy soul arrow is fun as all get out, but it's not really viable when you have a ticked off dancer hounding you. You can utilize GHSA rather well after her spin to win, during her aoes, when she's locked into a 5-6 combo animation just be sure to change back to other spells after or you're liable to go "Why is this not casting faster!? Dodge already!" *Boom* YOU DIED. This may have happened a few times in co-op to me. D:
