Ok now we're getting into the danger zone, this area (the swamp) is protected by the watchdogs of Farron, as a result everyone invades here. The other reason is because you only get to summon ONE phantom to help. Why? Well the watchdogs command the other slot, you got to use a dried finger to get 2 phantoms but beware... if you use the DF you have a chance to be invaded by 3 hostiles.

Also, if you summon your whole one phantom the odds are you'll be invaded by 2 players, funny enough if you're dead set on going through embered, it's actually easier to do so solo. Since it puts you at the bottom of the list so you'll get invaded last. Be warned though, even without summoning you can STILL get invaded by 2 hostile phantoms in theory. That's why pvpers love this area, less 3vs1s, more 3vs3s.
