Vivianne Sobreya has made an uncomfortable arrangement with the former Demon Queen, Fear Herself, aka Arava. Fear had originally planned to infiltrate the Predator Coalition of Demon Hunters disguised as a 15-year-old girl named Reva Arvos to steal a powerful artifact she’d once created called the ‘Demonitrix’. This can allow the user to channel the powers of any demon Fear has created and she intended to use it both to kill the Demon General hunting her, Zoophiathan, as well as to kill the Archon Demons rampaging across the Multiverse in physical forms she gave them before being betrayed by them.
Vivianne changed that plan. Viv had every reason to hate Fear as Vivianne was turned into a demon by Fear in the past and in her form as the Hornet Demon, Hemynapoda, she did some awful things that she still feels the need to redeem herself for. Viv got the sense after getting one up on Fear in a fight that the Demon Queen regretted her own past actions.
Vivianne has agreed with Fear that they will both get the Demonitrix, but Fear will then teach Viv how to use it. Things seemed to get more complicated as fellow Demon Hunter, Jax, discovered what was going on between Viv and Fear, but he grudgingly agreed to help, regretting how he treated past Coalition member, Cosmara Noroi when she was fighting for the Coalition using her own demon powers.
In the hopes of encouraging Fear to seek redemption, Viv has agreed to act as though Fear is starting on solid ground with her, with no history of digging herself into a pit of horrible past actions. Fear seems to have actually taken to this offer and hasn’t done or said anything horrible since. Will she be able to keep that up? We’ll find out soon, but a new challenge has arisen as, while approaching the Coalition headquarters, Fear learned that waiting inside the building are some people from her past who could throw a wrench in the plan.
