Previously on Starseed Psyche
Kyo Adachi and the Scarlet Squadron of Suberaith Soldiers were sent on their first mission to try and stop the invading, mechanical Kyserax from attacking various Wards of Tokyo. This was also occurring right as the day was changing over to the specific date on which Kyo’s spirit guide, Yorik, had told him that he’d shake hands with both the love of his life and his greatest rival, though he had no idea who these people would be. The Squad had trained for exactly this type of situation, but, unfortunately, there were many new types of Kyuserax that previous Suberaith Soldiers had never faced. Kyo watched one of his squad mates, Serata Souta, get killed in the battle. His closest friend, Chip, was badly injured, and fellow squad mate, Oda Mirika, lost her foot in the battle.
Kyo fought well and even tricked one of the dinosaur-like Kyuserax, tentatively called a Kyusaurus, into destroying a Kyuserax bomber ship. When it crashed, one of its bombs remained undetonated, so Kyo went to grab it to bring back to base for study. As he did, he was confronted with a Kyusidian, the alien race publicly blamed for the Kyuserax attacks, though definitive proof of this has never been given.
The Kyusidian, Fayestrial was a young woman who appeared around Kyo’s age. She attested that her people were not to blame and she wanted to study the bomb to decipher who had really sent the Kyuserax. As she mentioned some potential culprits, Kyo’s mind was overwhelmed with confusing, alien images. Fayestrial helped calm Kyo’s mind by holding and shaking his hand, alarming Kyo that one of his fateful handshakes was with a Kyusidian. Fayestrial got excited, stating that Kyo was something called a Starseed. They parted ways with her leaving the bomb with him and promising to come find him soon to further explain.
He was confused by the situation but was soon found by another Suberaith Squadron Captain, Toshiko Yamada, who thanked Kyo for retrieving the bomb with a handshake. Kyo had thought it would be obvious who his love and who his rival were after the shakes happened, but now he is more confused than ever.
