Daniel Agger: disappointed with myself and Brøndby results 29/03/16
Daniel Agger played today his last game for Brondby.
Two years ago turned the central defender 'home' to his youth, but now he says stop. He moves forward after the summer.
- I think it's time now to say goodbye to this club. I came home and wanted to do some results. For me it's about winning, that's what matters. And I am disappointed that it has not happened, says Daniel Agger.
- But I also look at myself, and I might not have been good enough to take the responsibility to be taken. I stand with the bracelet and I take overall responsibility for that has passed, as it has gone.
The 31-year-old defender has always set the bar high, and therefore he is not satisfied with himself - although he approves its action:
- It's been a long haul. Should I look at myself, it has been tweaked over the period - but acceptable is not good enough. And that's what irks me most. I was hoping I could contribute more than I did.
The fans have been worth
But what will happen to walk out the door today here in Brøndby ?
- It will not be easy. One of the big reasons why I came, is the fans. And when I now enter the field and go out, so I have chosen correctly, and it is largely because of them, I can say it.
Whether Daniel Agger will end his career as a footballer or continue for another club, he will use the next time to find out.
29th May 2016.
