I was a playtester for this level, but before I even started playtesting I knew I wasn't gonna beat it. Levels that are this difficult and long just aren't enjoyable to me at all, so I don't think I'll ever beat anything harder than Biru by JonathanGD. Even so, I felt like there are some things worth saying about this level with a showcase, so special thanks to Arb for beating this and recording it for the channel. (His previous showcase on the channel was Future Funk 2, which is quite fitting.)

When I playtested, there weren't many things to comment on, but it's clear that some stuff could have been improved after its release. The issue with playtesting a level of this length is that you mostly end up doing practice runs or using start position, which doesn't give an accurate feeling of how it is to play it in normal mode from the start. I simply didn't have time to do more than that before JonathanGD started verifying. After seeing Arb's and other friends' thoughts while trying to beat it, it's clear that the first dual at 3:30 is quite a big chokepoint. Personally, I wouldn't be patient enough to tolerate dying there over and over. Luckily, JonathanGD didn't make 99% purposefully frustating this time, which is something he's moving away from. With the length and unbalanced gameplay in mind, it's hard to say for sure what difficulty it will get, but it will most likely be rated Insane Demon. I wouldn't be surprised if it goes over to Extreme Demon at times, though.

Visually, this is definitely an improvement over Dark Travel, and that way it is a good remake. In particular, I like the effects seen throughout the level, such as the glitch effects seen every now and then. My favorite part is probably at 4:37, which features a really cool effect. I'm not a huge fan of all parts on their own, as I think some of them look worse than the rest, but it's the sum of all the parts for over 6 minutes that make "travel" levels like this so popular. This was funnily enough for the GDS Creator Contest, but it's nearly 1 year late. It was unlikely for him to be able to make a level this long in time, though. Even if you have some issues with the gameplay or visuals, I think we can all appreciate the amount of effort JonathanGD put into this remake, and I'm excited to see what he makes in the future.
