This is a continuation of the playthrough where i fight the crystal lizard and then after the first boss Iudex Gundyr.

As a thief your attack is weaker so you sacrifice damage for mobility. Main thing for the crystal lizard is i fight it two handing the dagger and using my thief mobility art for dodging to my advantage. Do a few pokes then back up. After the rolling attack if you're close do a charged R2 to do decent damage then back off. The key here is being a bit patient.

For Iudex Gundyr my recommendation is take a little time to practice parrying him because as you will see from my video i took him to phase 2 in only 3 parries. His moves arent hard to time so just take your time and learn how to parry it. If you dont want to parry then just wait for recovery frame disadvantage he has and attack a couple times then back off. One move would be where he jumps in the air he has lots of recovery. The other would be the two hit combo where he brings his weapon back with a backward thrust upward.

Second form is weird but wait for moves and this is where i switched to two handed mode. Mobility helps with the FP art move. Do some hits and reset the fight and repeat.
