Dark Souls 3: Grow up Kiddo, Don't Let Me Catch You out There Again (W/Hatemail)
12This invasion is in no way notable for me, if it were not for the hatemail I received for it. Had this host not sent me a message I would've thought nothing of this invasion and would've immediately forgotten about it. What's more I'm actually lucky that I save clips often enough to minimize trimming them later because had I not this clip would've been lost to the buffer time limit.
I'm generally not a fan of featuring hatemail in videos but I was recently shown a method of using the tracker tool in Davinci Resolve/Fusion much more reliably and that completely minimizes the effort of censoring a player's name during gameplay. However, I know many people in the larger DS community love hatemail, do a clean browser search for just the term "hatemail" on youtube it's nothing but Dark Souls content for the first several pages (with only a few unrelated results in-between). I'm still not quite sure if the mosaic filter is the best choice or if I should go for a hard gaussian blur though.
As for the hatemail itself, you might notice that it took me a day to respond to this individual. That's because I honestly did forget who he was as I was streaming and couldn't figure it out until the next day where I had time to scrub through clips. Given the numerous gank squads and bonfire duelists I fight at Grand Archives I honestly didn't see this one coming. This is a host who very clearly believes that the invasion system is meant only for griefing players, that the invader has the advantages because the pve is too strong, and that there is only 2 types of invader; assholes and honorable. Not every invader is relying on the level to do their work for them (stop camping with greatbows you lazy fonkers) BUT to assume that an invader needs to be completely honorable is to ignore the fact that they didn't use a red soap sign to enter a world.
