There is spamming parry because you expect a certain behavior but the opponent behaves differently and then there is just straight up spamming it with every other action. In general it's pretty bad when you press parry 2 times in a row without moving even a little, imo, with the exception being that you missed a parry but you know your opponent spams R1 and will very likely do a 3rd swing.

I generally avoid spamming parry 2 times in a row as I refrain from attempting a parry without some expectation of behaviors but a good exception is a moment like the one at 3:33. The host at that point already proved that he would be very unlikely to do anything but; spam out another parry, R1 out of the missed parry, or roll away. The worst case scenario there for me was guessing the R1 choice, missing my parry, and ending up getting hit by some mild damage dagger spam.
