Dark Souls 3: It Will Not Blend (Raw Clip)
9R1 spam takes zero skill and is so grossly over rewarded in DSIII that it is no wonder that people, both skilled and unskilled, just mash that button as if turbo controllers never went out of style. Fighting several people with the natural talent to use this super powerful technique is of course generally a really bad time, no one likes getting blendered. I particularly hate being blendered by mindless spam, so much so that when I was new to pvp it was the primary reason I learned how to parry (sadly the last patch has made 3rd swing parries against straight swords notably inconsistent). If I'm not feeling confident that I can split up a gank enough to cleanly claim a riposte on a successful parry I'll generally prioritize parrying less and go for turn and burns instead (partially because it's an optimal strategy but also to lowkey mock spam by being a spammer myself).
2:01 & 3:05 - I'm well aware that you can't riposte or backstab while on an elevator or moving platform. In these cases I still went for the parry so I could avoid getting roll caught by additional spam in such a small area as well as avoid a needlessly disadvantaged for damage trade.
