When I was invading with my Minecraft themed character I had many situations where I couldn't eliminate a summon quickly (even if I was chain backstabbing them). In these situations the basics of making group fights into seperate containted instances was much more important than landing any sort of burst damage. Fighting in a narrow space is one of the more annoying things to do but it is often a lot better than fighting multiple people in an open space where you'll be put into several sets of stunlock (even if you use toggle escapes you're still taking extra hits just to get out of it).
