14In this part, we begin Day 3 by returning to the Sun-Speckled Terrace. While exploring, we 100% the Industrial Maze, 100% the Hectic Hollows, 100% the Aquiferous Summit, and find the Yellow Onion.

- Starting Day 3, we can talk to Captain Shepherd to begin training Oatchi using Pup Drive. These points are earned by rescuing castaways and "curing" them, which will make sense later. Some abilities have levels to them that increase their effectiveness at the cost of more points. Beginning Oatchi's training will also unlock the "Train a Rescue Pup" Side Quest, which requires us to teach Oatchi every single ability. This won't be possible until the end game however, as we'll to rescue and "cure" every single Castaway.
- The Charging Horn allows Pikmin to charge just like in Pikmin 3. Swarming enemies can down them very quickly in this game, so I recommend getting this quickly.
- The Treasure Gauge will light up the closer we get to a Treasure or Castaway. Once all Treasure/Castaways on that floor are collected, the radar will turn off to notify us of the completion. The same works for the overall hub of areas.
- Oatchi has grown in size over night, and we can now ride on his back along with our Pikmin. Doing so is a bit faster for travel and it keeps all of our Pikmin condensed into one place to better prevent deaths from being too spread out or slow.
- At 1,500 Sparklium, we will be able to unlock the next explorable region tonight.
- Rescuing Kingsly unlocks the "Set the World Abloom" Side Quest. This side quest requires us to bloom (or turn into flowers) 300 Pikmin in return for Raw Materials. Unlike most side quests, this is one of the two that is endless and can be repeated nonstop to farm for Raw Materials.
- Rescuing Dingo unlocks the "Investigate Areas" Side Quests, which require us to 100% every region in the game (Sun-Speckled Terrace for example).
- Rescuing Dalmo unlocks the Piklopedia, which is more or less our Bestiary showing all the creatures we've even encountered. We can also train against these creatures with freebie Pikmin. Dalmo also gives out the "All Little Darlings" Side Quests. These side quests are completed by encountering and every type of creature in the game, so this will more or less happen naturally.
- With the Yellow Onion collected, we can now begin propagating the Yellow Pikmin, raising their numbers to however much we desire.
