Days Gone Challenge Mode - Part 1 - Surrounded And Survive
We take a look at the Post-Launch DLC for Days Gone called Challenge Mode, With a new challenge coming out each week we need to start at the beginning. The first challenge "Surrounded" involves an endless horde of freakers while the second "Survive" requires us to deal with Marauders each wave increasing with difficulty.
Set as an Action-adventure survival horror game Days Gone was released for the PlayStation 4 on April 26 2019. Developed by SIE Bend Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment the game takes place in a post-apocalyptic Oregon two years after a global pandemic with protagonist Deacon St. John discovering the possibility of his wife Sarah still being alive. Days gone was slated for a 2018 release, However after being delayed it was pushed to April 2019 and received mixed reviews from critics
Played from a third-person perspective, players can use firearms, Melee, improvised explosives and also stealth to defend against hostile humans, wildlife such as bears and wolves and also creatures known as Freakers. Freakers range in difficulty and can be dealt with differently depending on the type. The main mode of transport in the game is Deacon's Drifter bike which can be upgraded with different performance and visual parts and can also be used as mobile transport for ammo.
In June 2019 Days Gone received a free update that included new challenges for the player to complete along with a new Survival Mode Difficulty and two new trophies related to it. This mode makes the game and enemies harder to defeat, Disables fast travel, Limits survival vision and blocks all upgrades related to it, Removes the HUD (Survival Vision will bring it back for a couple of seconds) and reduces the amount of crafting items in the world.
