It's a scary SAM for a helicopter. I'm ALWAYS downed by it. In an Apache. In a Hind. In the Apache, I exercised the utmost caution, but it was a flat desert terrain and even at THE maximum 8-km hellfire missile range, the Osa downed me every single time... I even hovered too low and had to gain altitude for the laser to track.
India and Greece operate the OSA SAM system too.
There is no way around this OSA SAM for a helicopter. You can try flying very low to destroy it with rockets, but there are AA artillery vehicles guarding it. It's suicide too. If this thing guards an airspace, no gunship can penetrate it.
You need a fast jet with an anti radiation missile (anti SAM) to destroy it, or a fast jet with high drag bombs flying very low to drop the bombs on top of it.
