Dealing With Negativity In Your YouTube Comments Section
24I am not opposed to people leaving comment pointing out an opinion different from my own. It's often very cool to agree to disagree. No problems there. Leaving feedback in a constructive way can be helpful. Being respectful is something I always do online. Being disrespectful will never get you anything in life but grief and hurt.
This probably very young individual took a different non-constructive route and I did what I usually do when utterly disrespectful stuff like this happens.
I check out their channel - usually no content of their own and/or a history of abuse on YT. Their opinion is of no consequence or value. Their comment is like bad graffiti.
1. I block their channel
2. I delete their comment
3. I forget about their existence
In this case I honored their attempt at communicating with a video! Whoohoo! Mind you the above procedure will only work if there aren't too many comments on the videos. I just can't imagine how people deal with this kind of things when it's thousands and thousands of views and comments. There's a bonus to being a smaller channel - but being on here requires a bit of a thick skin no matter how big or small your channel is.
