Declaring MINIMUM FUEL in the PMDG 737! | Montego Bay - Santa Marta
359Join me LIVE for some Sunday night flying in the PMDG 737 in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Our original plan of flying two sectors from Montego Bay (MKJS) to Bogota via Santa Marta (SKSM) was scuppered due to it being incredibly busy on VATSIM and having to wait 30 minutes to fly an approach.
As we took flight plan block fuel we discussed the impending fuel situation and the process we go through in real life to ensure we protect our FINRES (30 minutes fuel remaining).
Step 1 - Request EAT - Expected Delay would commit us to destination but landing in excess of FINRES - No fuel declaration required
Step 2 - Committed to land at an aerodrome but a change in the existing clearance could result in landing less than FINRES - Declare MINIMUM FUEL". Our situation during the stream.
Step 3 - All previous steps/opportunities to protect FINRES have been used. Now landing less than FINRES - Declare MAYDAY FUEL (This would have been the case had we gone around).
