Decoding the Dragon | Col. Ramakrishnan CN (Retd.) in conversation with Karan Lalawat
In view of the current deadlocks between India and China over the border issue and more, Col. Ramakrishnan starts with the world view of China, its motives, ideology and age-old strategy of expansionism, and assimilation and Sinification of the occupied lands.
He further explores the situation with other countries in south and south-east Asia, the possibility of war and possible alliances, and answers questions like why talks and negotiations seem to yield no result, India’s strategic policies or policy-lapses, and the essentiality of external support in case of further escalation.
Bio-
Col Rama, during his service of 33 years in the Indian Army , has travelled and served in many parts of India. He has participated in the wars of 1965 as well as 1971. Since his retirement from the Indian army, he has been engaged in social activism, and mentoring under privileged children of migrants in the national capital.
They say one is never too old to set a new academic goal. Col Rama completed the Masters program in Political Science at the age of 75, which he says, combined with his defence background has broadened his perspectives, enhanced clarity and better understanding of national politics and international relations.
