Join us on Deep Dive as we unravel one of the most astonishing discoveries beneath the sands of Egypt—the hidden structures beneath the Khafre Pyramid. Researchers Corrado Malanga and Filippo Biondi have uncovered a vast underground complex stretching two kilometers beneath the Giza Plateau, challenging everything we thought we knew about the pyramids.

Are these tunnels and chambers remnants of an ancient energy system? A lost civilization's secret? Or something even more mysterious? We’ll break down the findings, explore expert theories, and examine the implications of this discovery on history, science, and the unexplained.

From cutting-edge radar technology to the mysteries of lost knowledge, this is a Deep Dive you won’t want to miss. Subscribe now and journey with us beneath the pyramids!

On March 15, 2025, researchers Corrado Malanga from the University of Pisa and Filippo Biondi from the University of Strathclyde announced groundbreaking findings beneath Egypt's Khafre Pyramid. Utilizing advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) tomography, their team uncovered a vast subterranean complex extending approximately two kilometers beneath the Giza Plateau.

The discovery includes five multi-level structures connected by geometric passageways near the pyramid's base. Notably, eight vertical cylindrical wells, each surrounded by spiral pathways, descend 648 meters below the surface, leading to two massive cube-shaped chambers measuring 80 meters on each side.

These findings challenge the traditional view of the pyramids solely as royal tombs, suggesting they may have served additional functions, possibly related to energy production or mechanical purposes. The research team has expressed interest in conducting excavations to explore these structures further; however, obtaining the necessary permissions from Egyptian authorities remains uncertain.

The scientific community awaits peer-reviewed publications to validate these findings and fully understand their implications for our knowledge of ancient Egyptian civilization.

A forthcoming conference abstract outlines research employing non-invasive radar technology to investigate hidden structures within the Khafre Pyramid on the Giza Plateau. Inspired by prior work on the Great Pyramid, the study utilized publicly available satellite data and specialized software to detect internal millimetric vibrations. Initial analysis of the Khafre Pyramid revealed five Zed-shaped structures above the central chamber and additional secondary features. Furthermore, the research identified extensive underground structures beneath the Giza Plateau, suggesting a vast network of non-natural constructions.
