Nvidia has come up with new GPU that have Ray tracing and DLSS and they perform really well.
The GPU uses a technology called DLSS or deep learning super sampling. This technology is a new method of anti aliasing. Just like FSAA or Full-Scene Anti-aliasing and MSAA or Multi-sampling Anti-aliasing DLSS improves the graphic quality significantly. The problem with all the anti aliasing techniques was that you would see some numbers dropping in the performance but an smooth edges.. DLSS uses deep learning and AI or artificial intelligence to render crisp and smooth visuals without any performance drop as shown in the Nvidia event. And it does it because we now have different cores to handle just the DLSS and Ray tracing on the GPU.
As per the demo shown in the event, one GPU which was probably the GTX 1080ti was running the demo at around 30-35 FPS on 4k resolution with TAA or Temporal anti aliasing. On the right side was the new RTX graphics card probably 2080 or 2080ti running the same demo with improved graphics and double the FPS around 70-75 FPS. The DLSS system was performing a lot better by the numbers and had a lot better visuals over the 10 series graphics card. I will leave the games that will support DLSS in the video description. And older games are expected to get a patch which will help consumers to use DLSS in previous titles.
We still do not have a clarity on how exactly DLSS works but as per the information that Nvidia has provided this technology is looking good but we still need to wait for the real performance reviews.
The games are still not developed and I am not sure if increasing lighting would make difference I mean it will but improving the faces in games or visuals in general would be something that I expect.
