I'm playing a short solo mission, and even in solo you can feel the coop mechanics because you're constantly interacting with your tools (bosco, and mule), to help you out in the depths of the cave planet. First you're mining for minerals, then you're encountering a rogue walking turret. I think the presence of secondary characters really make it entertaining. (as said, even without other players)
