DEFEAT THIS BOSS BEFORE HE APPEARS (Link's Awakening, Game Boy) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #zelda
1,065In The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for the Nintendo Game Boy, there's a super easy way to defeat the Lanmola who guards the Angler Key before he even appears on screen!
To defeat the Lanmola in Yarna Desert, usually Link has to hit him with his sword a few times. It takes four charged spin attacks to defeat the Lanmola, who drops the Angler Key which allows link to access Level 4 - Angler's Tunnel.
But there's a way to defeat this Lanmola boss before he appears on screen. In fact, you can even defeat him before his text box appears on screen!
Before entering the boss room with the Lanmola in Yarna Desert, equip your Roc's Feather and your Bow and Arrows.
Line Link up with the corner of the wall on the LEFT SIDE of the boss entrance. Basically you want Link to line up so that when you walk directly UP into the corner of the wall on the left side, Link will be pushed a pixel or two to the right, then continue holding UP to walk into the boss room.
If you're in the right spot, you can quickly jump and shoot two arrows straight up (I usually just mash the buttons here) and they will both his the boss - who for some reason has an active hitbox - before he appears on screen. This will immediately defeat him, and he will drop the Angler Key!
Also, when you pick up the key, I like to hold DOWN on the D-Pad and mash the jump button to avoid falling into the pit in the center of the screen. Works about 80% of the time, I would guess.
