As of this video, I haven't even finished playing Deltarune Chapter 2 yet. I just had so much fun voicing Spamton on-stream that I had to do a proper dub of his intro and first battle before I continued playing!

For his voice, I was inspired by Charles Nelson Reilly (who voiced the Dirty Bubble in Spongebob and a bunch of other characters that I don't remember off the top of my head) and Tom Kenny's impersonation of Charles Nelson Reilly while voicing Scaramouche for Samurai Jack.

Judging by how Toby wrote Spamton, I honestly think he was trying to go for something along those lines (especially when it comes to how the laughs are typed out).

I had a lot of fun voicing Spamton but, I had waaay too much fun with the sound design. Ultimately, it made for a pretty wild final product so I'm not complaining.

Considering Spamton's implied to be a no longer effective computer virus, I thought it was fitting to include some little nods to his origin with the Bonzi Buddy and other text to speech voices.

I included some of the car scene because I thought it would make for a nice contrast with Spamton's introduction. I also wanted to share a sample of my Queen voice too. For context for those still in the process of playing the game, Noelle's muffled because she technically still had a box on her head (and I muffled her voice when I read her lines to rest in between voicing louder characters...the Queen/Noelle audio was ripped straight from my Deltarune stream).

I gave the Queen and Spamton (and most of the Cyber World characters) metallic voices to make them sound more "digital" (if that makes sense). To get this effect, I spoke into/near an empty Florecitas tin can close to my mic and tweaked the audio further in Audacity with some normalizing (cause the can sounds kept peaking the audio) and phasing to make it sound more wacky robotic. I don't know how else to describe this process but, I tried.

I'm planning on eventually dubbing over some other character stuff as well (especially Ralsei and Sweet Cap'n Cakes). Not sure when but, it'll happen when it does...well...happen.
