Bearing in mind how hype-averse I am, you'd be forgiven for thinking that I might dislike the game automatically, right from the outset, "just because it's popular"-- but, please; I've never been as base as that. Sure, I gave Undertale a hard time when I retrospective'd that, but that was specifically because almost every review out there was nothing but non-stop praise, and I wanted to balance things out a little bit.

Deltarune has had a much more even reception, so I figured I'd be okay to give my full thoughts, here. Yes, I compare it to Undertale quite a bit, because that's more or less precisely how it's intended to be taken, but the grade I award at the end is entirely based on the game, as it currently stands, as a stand-alone product.
