While I recorded this footage a while back, I wasn't able to get it edited and uploaded in time for the Kickstarter to still be open — apologies for that. I still think there's some valuable feedback on the game's current state here, however, as well as some design decisions I really hope they do something about.

I did end up backing the game. Only time will tell as to whether that was a good decision or if this is destined for the "metroidvanias ruined by contact damage and no iframes on dash" pile.

Afterimage is a hand-drawn Metroidvania that emphasizes fast-paced combat with diversified character builds, non-linear levels, and gripping storylines set in a vast and ruined landscape.

You play as Renee, an amnesiac girl seeking to recover her memories and reveal the hidden secrets of the past, but unaware of the change she is bringing to this world.
