Demiath's New Computer (2011), Part #5 - Metro 2033 on Max Settings
Although not even 1 GB large 1920*1080 YouTube videos like this come close to doing the actual in-game experience any justice, Metro 2033 simply looks amazing on maximum settings with all the advanced DX 11 stuff turned up to, well, 11. The mind-boggling level of detail in the environments combined with a myriad of sophisticated special effects add up to a supremely immersive presentation which - subjectively, anyway - can be more rich and vivid than even the mighty The Witcher 2.
I've heard the actual gameplay in Metro 2033 has its' fair share of issues (poor AI, some annoying sections and questionable design decisions etc.), but there's no denying that the game's atmosphere is second to none, thanks in large part to the advanced visuals. I can't wait to see how the recently announced Last Light turns out...
