1What I said earlier about the graphics of Witcher 2 not quite constituting a next-gen step forward might have been slightly unfair. In many ways, simply running through the forest and admiring the intricately detailed foliage as well as the vast environments stretching far in every direction has been more impressive than traversing any of the game's more populated areas (producing a realistic-looking natural environment has obviously always been more tricky than simulating man-made structures).
The game's combat continues to be fast-paced and relentlessly challenging, and even the tiniest mistake can lead to a very quick death for poor old Geralt. There's a definite Gothic vibe to the combat, which is focused almost entirely on what to do when two or more enemies attack at the same time (which they frequently will).
