Since there's only the boss to contend with in this final stage, it winds up taking a lot less time to beat then the preceding stages. With how long they were taking, I found it to be a relief, though it's still somewhat of a drop off challenge wise. I think more bosses, and obviously more stages, would have been worthwhile, as the story mode is otherwise very succinct.
