On Friday, May 31st, the Denver Outlaws defeated the New York Lizards 11-9 in the 2019 MLL Season Opener.

MLL legend John Grant Jr. scored the first goal of the game after returning from retirement. Attackman Brendan Kavanagh had four points, two goals and assists, paced the Outlaws offensively.

Outlaws goalie Dillon Ward was fantastic, making 19 saves on 28 shots faced.

For the Lizards, Mark Matthews led the offensive attack with a four-point effort, two goals and assists, but he was routinely stymied by Dillon Ward.
