Boston Cannons 2019 Opening Day
The Boston Cannons opened up the renovated Veteran's Memorial Stadium with a bang on Saturday, June 1 2019 with a sellout crowd and a 13-12 victory vs. the New York Lizards.
Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker and Quincy Mayor Thomas Koch as well as MLL Commissioner Alexander Brown were on hand to cut the grand opening ribbon with Cannons owner Rob Hale.
The game itself delivered, as Mark Cockerton scored six goals while NY Lizards superstars Rob Pannell and Dylan Molloy lit up the stat sheet, ensuring a dramatic finish.
Prior to the start of the season, Hale and the city of Quincy finalized an agreement that will result in the Cannons investing over $1.5 million in major improvements to their new home in the offseason.
These improvements include a state-of-the-art digital scoreboard and public address system, extra seating including a first-class section for VIPs and season ticket holders, renovated locker rooms and much, much more.
