In this clip, Vlad started off asking Deon Cole about dressing up as Prince on “Black-ish,” which he said was an homage of the late singer and how he influenced the culture. Deon then spoke about how he stated that “we need to protect Prince” at his Netflix special that aired two months before Prince’s passing. Deon also joked about wanting to see Prince as an old man in house shoes, which led to Vlad sharing a story about how Prince became addicted to painkillers. Deon then asked about Prince being rumored to have been taking street drugs at the time he died. Vlad then shared a story about Smokey Robinson speaking about Michael Jackson separating himself from everyone who told him “no” before he passed away. Deon followed by sharing a story about meeting Smokey Robinson backstage at the American Music Awards, and watching Smokey curse out a white guy.
