Destiny 2 is Bungie's sequel to Destiny, surprising nobody. You are a guardian, protecting the Last City of Humanity after a titanic clash between the Traveller and the Darkness that ended humanity's golden age. Its up to you to wield the Traveller's Light and protect the survivors by fighting off the myriad threats of a post-collapse solar system: The Hive, ruthless monstrosities that dream of consuming every scrap of the light. The Cabal Empire, a war machine that makes 40K's Imperium look like utopian pacifists. The Fallen, the remnants of the Eliksni, who faced their own collapse and ran for safety only to find the Traveller that abandoned them to fight the Darkness alone. The Vex, a machine civilization who turned to worshipping the Darkness when their attempt to convert and consume it failed. And then there's the Taken, members of each civilization that have been taken by the Darkness and made both more and less than what they were...
