Destiny 2: Let Me Tell You Something About Monsters
0For the past year, Destiny's story has gotten pretty good. They salvaged the Stranger in Beyond Light, and now I look forward to the weekly reset just to see where the story leads.
Destiny's lore was always decent. It's just Bungie couldn't translate that into the game.
Thankfully, it doesn't seem to be a problem anymore. I tell my friends how great the story is, but I don't think they believe me. Fanboyism or whatever.
There are a bunch of these cutscenes in Destiny, all very good, but I believe this one is easy for casuals and non-Destiny players to appreciate.
Context: Since the start of Destiny, we’ve been fighting the Elixsni, also known as the Fallen. However, a small faction called the House of Light have been our allies for a while now. We gave them refuge in exchange for helping us stop the Endless Night, which is freaking people the fuck out.
Right before this cutscene plays, the Eliksni have their ether stores destroyed. The House of Light leader Mithrax wants Saint and Lakshmi-2 to help convince their people that not all Eliksni are bad.
Saint, though, excuses his people's behavior, telling Mithrax they're on edge for having to live alongside the monsters that've haunted them.
Mithrax then tells Saint a story about monsters.
I was catching up on my warlock in Season of the Splicer when this came up, and I decided to save it. Why it's so good is another story.
