Destiny 2 New Player Experience in 2024: Into the Light
25We return to Shaw. He once again thanks us for saving us and wishes that we could have been here a day earlier. Nonetheless, he moves forwards and informs us that he has informed Commander Zavala that we will be at the Last City with the superconductor.
For his final gift, Shaw grants us Maeve’s jumpship, allowing us to head into orbit as a brand new pilot.
Before we leave, though, there’s another campaign mission to do complete here by the name of Learning Light.
We meditate and look at ourselves in a warped reality through a third person point of view. It’s here that we pick up our first aspect. These unlock fragment slots and are additional modifiers to our subclass abilities.
The rest of this area forces us to use our abilities to clear destroy these randomly and unexplained alien structures.
Moving down these stairs, I encounter this spikey rotating arm clipping through the ceiling and walls.
The area ahead has spiked lamp-like pendulums and more of the thorned rotary arms. I have no idea what I’m supposed to be looking at. This location looks ugly as all hell and is terrible in design. I don’t even have to interact with any of this garbage and just end up running past it. I don’t know why this place exists in the state that it does or what its purpose even is.
We find our way outside the warehouse and assimilate with the wells of light out here in the mothyards.
The fight goes on for quite a while but there aren’t ever enough mobs to threaten death. With all the light wells, this is most likely just for us to get used to our abilities, and end with us earning our first fragment. These are smaller passives that end up influencing our build and gameplay even further. There’s a lot of them, and can interact in many different ways allowing for a wide variety of builds.
Shaw grants us a rare set of Mythos Hack 4.1 armor, and that completes our activities in the cosmodrome for now.
