Detatched is an objective based PvP game that simulates a space suit. There is also a single player campaign but this video is focused on the multiplayer PvP.
Detatched has a few varied forms of locomotion but all are intended to mimic space flight. Sorry guys, no teleportation here. This is a prime example of the rare game that it doesn't make sense in. Not only is it PvP but the whole point of the game is mastering how to maneuver a space suit.
That being said, I felt little motion sickness or discomfort. There is a frame that you will see that is constantly in view. This should minimize most motion sickness. There were also comfort options in addition to a full simulation option. It looks like the devs have tried to make sure both sides are taken care of. If you're very sensitive to motion sickness, sadly you may want to steer clear of this one.
As far as the PvP gameplay goes. This is a game to be played with friends for sure. I don't think I'd enjoy randoms as much as getting together with someone you know and popping this in as a social/party game. The fun, for me at least, is more in trash talking your buddies than playing the game.
There were some issues joining a game and we were forced to join via Steam. This was an early build and I hope they've since fixed that bug but I don't know for sure.
I did find that it was very challenging to accurately fly where you wanted to go but I did feel as though I was significantly better after an hour or so of playing. Skill will play a large part of this game and you'll definitely want to at least do the tutorial and maybe 20-30 minutes of the Single Player campaign before jumping into PvP.
I haven't played through very much of the single player story but it does seem to be high enough quality to justify the $24.99 price tag. Hopefully I should have more up on the single player side of things soon.
Also remember that being an Unreal Engine game, it plays much better than it records due to the way UE games mirror to the desktop.
