Deus Ex HR The Missing Link complete longplay the first 2 hours in Ultra HD 4K on GTX Titan
Deus Ex HR The Missing Link Playing through 2 hours in Ultra HD 3840x2160.
My playing style: Stealth, hack, NO alarm, "Ghost" bonus, NO kill if avoidable.
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFELzBdX-LI&list=PLIgfh22pB6pZ-KlDUCDKJgqunqVLOL2Fy
I had the DLC on my drive for quite a few month (I have a life besides gaming, and I am not a pupil or student), so this is my premiere.
It was not my plan to make a 2 hour movie, but I wanted to finish "part one", so it grew to an full evening movie 'cause I missed where "part one" end actually is. So I cut at about 2 hours *g*. I can create higher resolutions (up to 5760x3600) videos from this game, but not with constant recording speed of 30 fps over _hours_ of playing, but the higher resolution is nice for creating panorama or background screen shots.
Deus Ex 6K screenshots + over 10k wide panoramas on http://joumxyzptlk.de/
On request: x264 encoder settings "--preset veryslow --crf 25".
Recording was "simply" done with fraps, set to "lock at 30 fps". With 6144x3840 playing is fine, but the recording is often below 10 fps.
Editing + video encoding: Virtualdub 64 bit version. You cannot encode Ultra HD with 32 bit, out of memory.
Audio editing: Most of the time not necessary. But if, then Cooledit 2000.
Audio encoding: foobar with ogg Q5 preset configured (the most lazy way possible).
0:00:07 Of course "Give Me Deus Ex" difficulty, but still way toooo easy. The same applies to Duke Nukem Forever. And Skyrim. And a LOT of other games. Damn you Xbox/Wii/Playstation consoles, creating a generation of players who think this is "High difficulty".
And also: Of course WITHOUT cross hair, and WITHOUT highlight "you can click here" borders.
0:04:00 First hacking, but then of course I am using the tunnel for exp....
0:13:12 Why doesn't he see me? My arm is so clearly in his view...
0:16:40 Upgrade, and I cannot leave un-hacked doors after upgrade, so backtrack to the door at 18:52 aka the beginning.
0:19:33 Sometimes my orientation plays tricks on me.
0:26:10 Side quest target found!
0:30:27 Creating my first save game (I could have cut that out, but playing 30 minutes without manually saving once is worth showing). But after that I got more cautious and used quick save for pausing...
0:32:33 Surface reached ! And it's raining....
Before reaching the surface I could have searched more. There are some other lower decks which I left out, and I bet there are still some humans which I did not send to sleep there. Something for the next play through!
0:34:35 First "a bit" difficult spot (were quick save was useful), luckily those guards are somewhat blind. Same tactics as every time, wait until they finished chatting, and then one by one. That sneak-by would not have worked in any Armed Assault : ), .
0:40:53 Does anyone know whether there is actually something worth behind that gate? A secret tunnel I missed? I found nothing.
0:44:02 Blind people again. We need a higher difficulty setting for this game.
0:51:08 Nice spot for 6K screen shot
0:51:38 I like red places, another 6K screen shot place, maybe even panorama, like my 25000x6000 pixel panorama from "The White Room" in DX-HR.
1:10:49 I cannot leave that "Pocket Secretary" unread, so charge and run...
1:16:49 Upgrading for wall-break. But there is a person directly behind the wall (see radar lower left), wall-break would kill him and ruin my "peaceful"-stats, so no breaking, a praxis wasted at the wrong time.
1:23:38 A scanner, of course I'll be detected. Yahoo, smooth operator bonus! Aaand, this is the end of "part one", but I missed the chance to stop recording.
1:27:37 That hall is actually a bit more difficult if you don't want to raise an alarm.
1:33:37 The way to avoid the difficulty but 1:34:37 no, I don't want to whimp out.
1:40:20 Dancing with the robot. All alarm triggers are turned off, so "ghost mode" stays (see "hostile" on the radar, but no "alarm"). If I would have had enough bullets I would have killed it with the pistol. I tried it that way on the first try, you see the second try here.
1:44:25 Checking for a possible panorama shot while looting and saving the spot.
1:57:35 I could simply go through the door after silencing that guy, but there are still other enemies in that hall, and turrets to hack.
2:00:06 A quick snack before taking down those two meditating "guards"...
2:04:12 Inactive turret, so peace at the end.
