I finished Mankind Divided a few weeks ago, and I'm still glad I finally went back to the game. Despite not being saturated in Human Revolution's trademark golden tint, the sprawling levels of this expansive sequel are as stylishly presented as anything seen in Eidos Montreal's first cyberpunk adventure. They also do a great job of showcasing the new Dawn engine; a pretty powerful piece of technology that more than makes up for its unremarkable character models by featuring plenty of nice visuals effects which really help bring the environments to life (a far cry from DX:HR's desperately modified Crystal engine, originally used in Tomb Raider Legend from 2006). DX:MD's story ultimately goes nowhere - especially in the light of Square Enix's subsequent decision to put the series on hold indefinitely - and the finely crafted Prague hub is way too small to avoid becoming claustrophobic by the end of the game, but Mankind Divided is nonetheless an atmospheric and richly textured experience which satisfyingly augments the stealth action framework of Human Revolution. In more ways than I was expecting, this feels like the game Eidos Montreal wanted to make the first time around.
