Devil May Cry 3 SE (NS): Mission 8 (Normal, Secret Mission 4 Failed)
Dante was devastatingly defeated by his twin brother Vergil, but he was not left for dead.
As the old saying goes: "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger." Indeed, Dante's defeat unlocked the power of his Devil Trigger, giving him access to the greater strength of his demonic heritage.
He stood up once more to continue his chase towards Vergil and Arkham, and that involved making a stylish dive from Temen-ni-gru. He not only fell down the tower, but also ran down it, all while laying waste against some more demons with his guns and his sword. He was having a lot of fun!
But that fun would soon be ruined after he jumped away from the tower, as a gigantic beast flew over to him and swallowed him whole.
Mission 8 is all about helping Dante escape from the Belly of the Beast.
----------
As said before, Dante's Devil Trigger was finally pulled for the first time. You start out with 3 gear orbs to activate it, but you can buy Purple Orbs with Red Orbs to again additional DT Orbs to make it last longer.
When Dante is Devil Triggered, his attacks hit harder, and he slowly regenerate his health. He's not entirely invincible, though, but he does become tougher to hit at all.
----------
Secret Mission 4: Devil's Teetor-totter, is at 4:45. It involves using an elevator from a previous mission to reach a Blue Orb Fragment at the top. The problem with this is that demons, Devil Triggered ones, will spawn in onto the elevator with you. If there are too many at a time, the combined weight will force the elevator to drop.
I couldn't really figure out how to overcome this now, so I just allowed this Secret Mission to end as a failure. I'll probably return to it later when I have better weapons for this job.
----------
Now for the main Mission. You have to first remove 5 tusks from a doorway to move on. Hitting different disgusting blobs in the area will do this.
Also, watch out for the yellow stomach acids on the ground. They'll burn away your health every time you step in them.
----------
The main point of interest is the Leviathan's Heartcore. You need to put something in the pedestal in the middle of that room to unlock the wall in there.
Along some of the long, squishy hallways, you'll find more Gigapedes chasing after you. You can either outrun it, or spend some time killing it for free Red Orbs.
What you're looking for is the IgnisFatuus. Find and take this back to that Heartcore, but be weary as things get darker and woozier as you're on your way.
----------
Return to the Heartcore's wall to unlock it with that thing. Then... you get to fight it!
The main core is at the center, but to reveal its weakspot, you have to drain the cores to its sides.
And the side cores have different effects. The left core will steal away the Red and Green Orbs that are dropped from the demons you're fighting, while the right core drains away your Devil Trigger energy.
You only have to eliminate one of these two cores at a time to get the center core to open, and this will only last a few seconds. The center core also opens up when it's preparing an attack, such as red lasers or blue homing beams.
Get rid of the center core to beat this whole boss. Then Dante can finally get out of this nasty level!
----------
Meanwhile, Arkham continued his lust to use Temen-ni-gru to attack humanity with the power of the demons. It felt like Vergil wasn't entirely on his side with this specific goal, though.
