- First we have a player making a thread about companions and how they need more interactions. Player states it would be cool if all companions had goals and quests they needed to achieve so they would seem unique and not like a basic soldier. Also the equipment companions come with is always the same one sword build with terrible armour. Also the player states that in towns companions should have something to say when you talk to them, such as a quest, gossip or rumors. Lastly each companion should have a personality, either aggressive, passive, loyal, rebel or anything in between. This would make companions more interesting and fun to play with.
The devs respond and state that this is a great post and will forward all of
this to the campaign dev team. Also that devs are aware of the lack luster
companions and state that companions are not in the final state right now.
Seems to me like the companions we have now are place holders for now and later on we will get more dynamic changes and maybe even an overhaul.
- Second we have the devs answering multiple questions asked a player:
First question ask if talesworlds is satisfied with how the game is right
now or if the devs are not happy with it.
Devs state they are overall happy and that the game is heading in the
direction they want it too. They are also pleased that players can play
in the early access stage and see the changes being made. The devs also
state they are aware of the lack of content that needs to be put in, so
they will keep working until its a great game.
Second question asked if there were systems in the game that the devs thought were great, but were not well received.
The dev states there are better devs to ask about this, does not have
an answer.
Third questions asked if the devs are planning an AMA's in the near future.
Devs state they have no plans to do anything like this in the near future.
Last two questions ask if the devs follow suggestion threads and if any
suggestion are planned to be implemented into the game.
Devs state yes and yes. Some already made it into the game like the faster
convo screens on the world map and more are coming in the future, but the
devs did not want to spoil those.
Now in terms of these questions, while they are good and players do want to hear the answers, the threads are usually spammed with toxic trolls and
random arguments that are off topic. Also if the devs say anything that is
opposing a players idea of the game, instantly met with toxic and emotional
responses.
Look if you want the answers and want to be included in conversations with
devs, act grown, stop acting entitled and if you want the devs to respect
your perspective, do the same.
- Third we have a dev making a statement about the questions he just
answered because like i stated, the whole thread is full of arguments and
just nonsense. (BTW i want to point out, that not everyone is saying nonsense, some are making good points and want to really have a conversation, but negative people are unfortunately louder in these situations, theoretically speaking.)
Devs state that they have more stuff planned for the future, but cannot talk
about those things because its not 100% as of right now. Also once the devs announced what it is, next question will be when and the devs dont have an answer for that. Also the scenes example the devs used was just that, an example.
The devs also state that it is much better for them to work and not make
huge hype over features. The devs will talk more about things in
development over time and when they are close to being done or when they are in the game.
- Fourth we have a player asking about marrying siblings, reports some
crash fixes that have been fixed in the new hotfix we got recently and states
that war and peace decisions are still debatable.
The devs thank the player for his report on crashes and that they will be
looked into.(For clarification, we got a hotfix yesterday afternoon, this
was stated yesterday morning and some of those crash fixes mentioned by the player were fixed in a couple of hours.)
The devs also state that incest is intentionally disabled in the game, so for
all the weirdos out there, youll have to wait for mods. Also that the war and
peace system remains a work in progress.
Lastly i am going to end this video in the same way i ended most update
and dev talk videos, i want to thank the developers for staying active and
bringing good changes.
