- First we have a player who examines in game code. He finds a bug that
happens when a player donates a prisoner to a fief. The player states that
currently if you donate a prisoner to a fief, the escape chance of the
prisoner does not decrease to 7.5% as it should when a prisoner is in a
dungeon, but it stays the same as if it was still in a mobile party. This
happens because the prisoner does not get transferred into the dungeon code wise, but to the garrison party in the fief and this garrison party is labeled as mobile party, therefore the game still sees this prisoner in a mobile party and does not change the percent chance of escape.
The player also showed all the code associated with his research to prove his point.
The devs responded and stated it was a good catch by the player and states that this is now fixed.
Also devs state that they changed the garrison party to a non mobile party
and set the escape chance from the garrison party to 7.5% instead of making the prisoners a part of the dungeon code wise, devs state this is a safer fix with less chance of something breaking. Devs also provided code back with the changes.
Great to see the community and devs work together and get fixes out. Like i
stated before, the devs are active and if you have a problem, suggestion or
anything like that, go on the forums and make some posts.
- Second we have a dev looking over a players game save where the player
states caravans are not making money and get captured before they make any profit.
The dev states that he ran the game for 3 in game years which is 246 in game days (1 year = 82 in game days) and that not even one caravan was captured and all 7 caravans that were operational made a total of 1.3 million in 3 years which works out to be 60K per year for each caravan or 700 a day for each caravan.
Dev then states that this is weird because the player stated most caravans he made got captured 30-60 days of making one, but the dev states he will run again.
Player then responded to the dev and stated if the dev can make the
difficulty realistic and run some more tests. The developer agreed.
The dev then responded back again with the results on realistic
difficulty.
Dev states that this time 3 out of the 7 caravans got captured in 3 in game
years. This still makes caravans profitable and it is normal for some
caravans to be captured, its high risk, high reward. Workshops are low risk
and low reward. The devs also state that if they increased party size of
caravans to 40-50, they would not be captured at all which would make caravans another smithing javelin broken mechanic.
The devs do state that in the future they might add a way to tell your caravan leader to stay away from certain areas to increase the caravans survivability and also maybe a trade perk that give caravans +5 party size.
Dev then ends his statement stating that caravans are currently very good,
if not OP, you invest a little over 20K and get 120K back in 3 years most of
the time. Yes maybe the mechanic of not being able to control your caravan
is not fun, but its balance for now.
Good insight into the caravan system in my opinion and also what they might do in the future. I for one did not know about 1 in game year being only 82 in game days, but that does clear up a lot for me.
- Third we have a player asking about the windup speed of throwing weapons in multiplayer.
The devs state that the time it takes to reach high accuracy with throwing
weapons has been increased and in turn this will make players wait longer
before they release their throws.
Again dont play much multiplayer, but i know that right now a huge problem is throwing weapons and the devs have stated that some units has been nerfed in terms of throwing weapons and this looks like another nerf. Hopefully this contributes to the solution and makes for better multiplayer gameplay.
- Fourth we have a dev responding to a player having connection issues
with NA multiplayer servers.
The dev posts a quick instruction guide on how to fix multiplayer
connection issues and that will be on the screen right now if you are having
problems. Hopefully this helps and pause the video if you need to read it.
Lastly i am going to end this video in the same way i ended most update
and dev talk videos, i want to thank the developers for staying active and
bringing good changes.
