- First we have a player making a thread about sorting and filtering
units in your party. Player states that clicking through the party list is
frustrating and needs improving. Also states that a filter button should have
options to sort by rank, type, group, time and nation of a troop.
Devs respond and state that this has been answered and quote the original dev response.
The original response states that the order of troops affect mission side
spawning and positioning, so if the devs were to add a sort function, the
mission spawning and positioning would break. First the devs want to find a solution to the problem and then implement the sort function.
Makes sense, will probably take longer, but better to wait for a good fix then
get a fix and break a function at the same time.
- Second we have player making a thread about auto upgrading troops and a possible setting with bars that you slide to make the auto upgrades follow a certain patch when the game has to decide what type of unit to upgrade to.
The devs state that this is being discussed, but they do not have anything
concrete as of right now. They understand that this is impacting user
experience and when they have more info, they will share it.
- Third we have a player asking about why some units require a horse to
upgrade, but regular units dont require shields and certain weapons to upgrade since weapons coming from nothing does not make sense.
The devs state that this is a rabbit hole that they do not feel comfortable
going down. This would have drastic complications to the economy of the game, how battles, recruiting and how armies behave.
I get where the devs are coming from, but if someone is up for the the task,
you can make a mod that requires specific weapons for certain unit upgrades, but yeah this will impact a lot of in game features and in ways i think players wont like at all since almost everyone is upset with caravans and workshops making a couple hundred denars, and this new feature would just burn through players pockets and money would be a way bigger issue.
- Fourth we have a player making a thread about how pressing and holding
the ALT key works in game. The player wants a gameplay option to invert the ALT key so when you hold ALT it hides all formation markers in battle, instead of showing them. Also states that since he holds ALT a lot, sometimes by accident, the player hits F4 to make archers hold fire and in turn it turns off his game.
The devs state that this is not the best solution to the ALT F4 problem because depending on the battlefield, the marker will get in the way of the players vision and that these markers were made to give the player a quick look into where the enemy is if the player loses sight.
Also the devs are aware of the ALT F4 problem and state they are talking about either disabling ALT F4 in the game completely or giving a secondary screen when pressed to confirm an exit of the game. Devs will share more info when they have it.
Both solutions sound good, the secondary screen is the best in my opinion. I personally didnt have this problem because i dont hold ALT for very long, just to check quickly where the enemies are at, but i understand the player problem.
The player then responds if an option to permanently highlight drop items can be implemented.
The devs reply again and state that this would also be too intrusive.
Maybe an option should be added in my opinion, but at the same time i dont know if its completely needed and also can cause performance issues during a siege where hundreds of dropped items and arrows are on the ground.
- Fifth we have a player asking a multiplayer change question. Player
states that changes to spears and cavs were mentioned, but nothing about
bump couching which is a ridiculous feature in multiplayer was mentioned.
The devs reply that horse bump and knockdown speeds were adjusted as well as the couch lance damage formula. Devs also state that damage is now more dependent on speed so you can walk past a player and do 500 damage. Devs are expecting this to change some of the more frustrating aspects of multiplayer but will see what the feedback is and adjust more if needed.
Lastly i am going to end this video in the same way i ended most update
and dev talk videos, i want to thank the developers for staying active and
bringing good changes.
