DFFOO GL (A Captain's Loyalty CHAOS (Challenge Quest)) Noctis BT, Vaan LD, Basch
Alexander summon,
Note: Noctis and Vaan are EX+3LB. Noctis has his BURST, LD, his enhancement boards, his bloom passive, and the following spheres - his own and Irvine's RF sphere. Vaan has his LD, WoI passive, and his own sphere. Basch is EX+0LB.
Wave 1: Iron Worm x2 (completed on turn 18)
- Group Gravity Spin (AOE) and Iron Head (ST) are 2 HP attacks you need to watch out. Watch out for Reaper. It is always important to ensure that someone has BRV to avoid AOE BRV break. Vaan's S1 is good for this. Make use of Noctis's turn manipulation to get into good turn order. Save his LD for the boss wave.
- The best scenario is that you get Basch to setup his Knight's Shield (with his S1) before the Worms get his turns. Basch should be able to heal up with his S2 or EX. I would suggest you save your AA for the boss wave.
Wave 2: Might Eater, Mite Eater x2 (completed on turn 53)
As we have more powerful weapons compared the last time when the initial event is run, the enemies have gained a massive HP increase compared to the previous one.
The mechanics are the same as the previous run. You can do the previous run trick of delay and paralysis to kill off the boss before it could act. To avoid skills run out and the boss has a shit ton of HP, it is best to do it normally.
The Might Eater can summon 2 Mite Eaters or refill their HP with Sow Stone. Upon killing the Mite Eater once, you just focus on the Might Eater to finish the battle off. The Miters have a simple moveset - BRV attack, Rabble (HP attack), or Power Fog (AOE HP). Basch excels for this CHAOS because of his HP damage mitigation gimmick and directing all AOE attacks to him. Doing a run without Basch seems difficult.
The Might Eater has the following moveset
1) Flash of Weakness - It lowers all allies' max HP and raises its speed. This will be used by Might Eater's first action. You can avoid it by using the summon, delay, and paralysis trick (for non-synergy runs).
2) It has a wide range of HP attacks - Perforating Tentacle (ST HP), Dance of Tentacles (BRV Gain, AOE BRV+HP), Ground Claw (BRV Gain, AOE HP), and lastly Absorb Energy (BRV Gain, Absorb your party's BRV and HP). With Basch protecting the party, you should be able to mitigate most of the damage that the boss could deal with. If you are lucky, Vaan's Blind debuff can be useful to prevent any HP attack.
You need to watch out for Absorb Energy as you need to dump your BRV before it uses it (It is used at 80% and 50% HP auras) You will see the message - "Mouth open wide...!" before the boss will use that.
I saved Noctis LD when Basch needs those turns to heal up himself. The extra turns will allow you to get to Basch turn where he can use his S2, EX, AA, or HP+ to heal himself to be above 50% HP threshold. You can use your summon to gain those extra turns for Basch to heal himself up. Refresh his S1 when needed.
The damage deal is good enough that I am able to do it without activating Noctis' BURST.
