Wave 2: Crust Beetle x2 (completed on turn 50)
Wave 3: Dark Bahamut (completed on turn 66)
Score: 1007k
This CHAOS is the hardest for this Abyss plus the blue crystal and dagger restriction which identical to Perfecum Stratum 3 Pt.7 CHAOS. The Imps and Crust Beetles resist magic, so if you are bringing magic users, make sure they have a way to imperil own element or use an enchanter like Garnet.
I have brought Noctis (for the damage, black crystal), Edge (for the blue and dagger requirement, and the dodging that I need), Garnet (for party enchanting, and FFIX character requirement).
Some general notes on the wave:
- Sergeant Imp - they are can buff each other and shield. The attack that you need to watch out for is its Flying Kick and its Calamity Bomber. Calamity Bomber won't hit hard if your party doesn't get broken. I have Edge use 2 Smoke Bombs where I need to lock so Noctis can focus on building his Armiger stacks (I save his LDs use and BURST for the next 2 waves). Try to have Edge spam his skills strategically so that you can get his EX up and ready before the Imps use Calamity Bomber. Do keep Garnet's Thunder Imperil up or both she and Edge's damage will be gimped.
- Crust Beetle - stay on alert once the bosses gain that Hatred red aura. I have Noctis use his BURST and 1 LD here so that I can kill them off before they get too dangerous. Make sure Edge can lock them with Smoke Bomb when your party is getting targeted and BRV is less than max. You have 2 chances here so be careful and hopefully, Edge EX is ready when the Beetles is about to do its Crust Disaster AOE HP attack. It is probably rust that I did not get Noctis' HP maxed for the next wave. Ideally, I would want to have Noctis use his EX with his Shooting Star at + variant before he uses his BURST. The boss rotation will be S1+, EX, S1, S1+, LD, BURST. Do keep Garnet's Thunder Imperil up or both she and Edge's damage will be gimped. I should have used my summon here as well since I don't use my Summon in the boss wave...
- Bahamut: I have Edge use his last Smoke Bomb to lock the Bahamut, while Noctis hammer the boss HP down with his launch and raw damage. I have him use his last LDs here. Make sure Edge's EX is ready when the Bahamut does its Megaflare after its first 2 turns and probably 1 at the mid-cycle. Have Garnet and Edge debuffs the boss when the Bahamut does Dark Charge at below 70% and below 30%. If you want to use your summon, make sure you kill it in the summon phase or exit the summon with Edge's party evasion buff up as it will do Counter Megaflare once you are out of the summon.
