DFFOO [GL] Cait Sith Mission Dungeon Lufenia+ {No Stuns} [Xande Saga #9] (Xande, Bartz, Raines)
This may have been the most difficult run to date. Unfortunately, similar to the Raines event, I did have to swap out my Xande for a friend Raines in this fight, which I try to avoid in my saga runs.
This fight has some very exact steps that have to be taken for this team to work. There are no stuns on this team at all, and also no native saps, so I only have Faris call inflicting the sap. This means a maximum of 8 turns of sap if I don't clip my faris calls.
Raines must go first and inflict the Faris call, followed by pulling Bartz up with the S2 and immediately going into Bartz BT phase to take a chunck of damage off the adds, but trying not to let one die off. Then Xande must take his turn and LD, the rebreak giving Raines a turn before the adds can act, only allowing the main boss to attack once.
At this point, Raines needs to finish of the remaining adds with his S1 to refresh the buff, and enter the main phase of the boss fight. At this point I try and get the boss as close to 80% as possible without going under, so as to avoid the warp. I set both Kurasame calls with Xande so that the boss is at 5 stacks, and then switch him out for Friend Raines. Also have to make sure Bartz is at three stacks of his BT effect, and has Caith Sith LD call active for massive brv gains in the summon phase.
Once the boss is at or as close to 80% as possible, go into summon on either of Raines turns and burst the boss down as much as possible. The boss has to at least get below 40% to trigger all of the warp phases at once. The entire team composition was built to maximize the damage output of this summon phase.
After the summon, the boss will immediately warp and resummon the adds, this is actually a good thing, as after it warps, it will be immune to launch for three of its turns, so the boss does need to act. Then its a balance of killing the adds, while making sure the last add doesn't die immediately before a main boss turn (which I fail at my first attempt in this run) and then getting as much damage in as possible before the adds repawn. This back and forth also can't go on for too long as Bartz BT effect, and Faris's calls can easily run out, leading to a dead run.
This phase is where Xande really shines, with his LD rebreaks pushing the main boss back so as to let Raines get a couple extra warps in before the adds are resummoned, in addition to just dealing quite a load of damage on the adds themselves.
A big issue this comp has is maxing out on debuff slots, especially when I was trying to go the stun route with Ramuh, as Xande has his imperil on wave start, and Faris call inflicts 5 framed debuffs.
