Crevasse finally comes to JP, and I was surprisingly ready for it. Didn't think I would get along too well as I'm not a super frequent puller and I tend to just wait for the same characters to get upgrades as I don't like grinding co-ops and the like on JP lol.
I recorded every stage for the fun of it but really everything except for the Shinryu stages is just an afterthought and could be solo'd by plenty of units if not for the fact I had to carry units for requirements. Cyan, Cloud, Reno, and Locke are characters I have not really built at all but took them along due to code restrictions and maximising points. Kurasame and Firion are a little underbuilt too but they worked fine and did enough damage themselves for Lufenia stages. The Orbs were picked at random, and only the one in Lufenia 3 was actually of any risk since I wasn't ticking it up (it was the fire Orb, should have put that on the stage I used Neon in hindsight), but I still rushed it down with Jack Garland just fine.
The Shinryus were actually quite fun for me as not only did they encourage me to trade my 5/5 UT Staff in for a second 5/5 UT Spear again (and I used both in both Shinryus), but I also got to try strategies I've had in mind for a while but never got a chance to do before.
---------------------------
For Shinryu 1, this boss had significantly less HP than the Shinryu 2 boss, to the point I'd say it's more like a pre-FR Echo Shinryu stage and is built with that kind of strategy in mind. So I made this the one where I used a 3x Weapon/3x Crystal Colour code - in this case, 3 Spears and 3 Red Crystals, which left me with Freya, Edgar, and Llyud. I got to let Llyud spread his wings using his Force Time in this one. Freya already fulfills Llyud's FR conditions (notably, the stacking buff one) perfectly, but Edgar doesn't. Rydia LDCA gets around that though since the Blink debuff is a stacking buff...and what's more, these enemies have guaranteed hit on all of their attacks and so Rydia's Blink buff never actually goes down as a result, allowing Edgar to easily keep this buff for the entire fight to use in both of Llyud's Force Times.
These enemies attack in a distinct pattern of alternating between a BRV attack and a HP attack, so by de-syncing them so that they are not using these at the same time, Freya's Last Stand keeps everyone safe from the HP attack. I do have to sit through a few sequential attacks around when I have to wait through their Force Time, but both Edgar's BT trap and Raijin LDCA can deal with that.
Damage wise, the main strategy here was exploiting Freya for off-turn damage since these enemies take lots of turns, but also Edgar's BT trap and FR Echo at the very end of each Force Time, as well as summon at the end of the second Force Time. I can use Edgar's instant turn rate LD and high turn rate S1 to build up the HP Damage Bonus before placing his BT trap with the BT finisher in the first Force Time. For the second Force Time, I used Edgar's BT phase for building up the bonus and placing the trap again.
This actually took an embarrassingly long time for me to do because of a mix of some turn order RNG but also because I foolishly kept using Rydia's normal call to water enchant the party before Edgar's Burst, but apparently this makes the bosses counter you constantly and also delay you, which kept screwing up my setup at the end. So be mindful of that in this one.
---------------------------
For Shinryu 2, I got to do something a bit silly, which was using three LDCAs with traps combined with Quina's BT effect to get lots of free off turn damage during Quina's Force Time. Quina's traps and Kain's attacks are also thrown into the mix. Zack's BT finisher is like Tidus' in that it has the 500K+ standard BT finisher HP cap despite having a ton of hits, so Quina's BT effect made all of those hits cap, turning it into a pseudo FR Echo of sorts. The enemies don't dish out much damage and Zack negates all of it anyway so this is just a matter of waiting through the Force Time and letting the off-turn attacks go off and then unloading FR Echoes and other big attacks at the end.
