Diablo 3/III - Nemesis Kill with Nemesis at Maximum Strength (No Mods)
A total newb at Blizzard's Diablo games, I just picked up Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition for the PS4 this month (July 2017) for around $10 (USD) because it was on sale at Amazon, plus I had $10 Amazon promotional credit to use on it. Nowadays, I'm more a computer gamer than a console gamer, but glowing reviews of the PS4 version from people who have played it on both PC and PS4 helped convinced me to buy the PS4 version.
I had got interested in the Diablo games indirectly through playing Runic Games' Torchlight II on PC. Two of Diablo's creators at Blizzard North, Max Schaefer and Erich Schaefer, left Blizzard North and helped found Runic Games. The Schaefers were involved with Diablo and Diablo II, but not with Diablo III. Source: https://www.diablowiki.net/.
I'm more of a casual gamer, and I don't cheat in playing Diablo III on PS4 (which a lot of Diablo III console players seem to do). As you can see in this video, at the time I recorded it, I was a level 69 wizard who still hadn't even completed the Trailing the Coven quest and hadn't met the enchantress and unlocked the jeweler.
The Nemesis Fight
Beginning shortly after 6:45 into the video, a distinctive, ominous war horn signals that the dreaded Nemesis will soon appear. The actual Nemesis fight, ending in its demise, begins soon after 9:14.
Before this Nemesis fight, as a complete Diablo newb I knew virtually nothing about Nemesis. I just knew I wanted to kill it so bad after being killed by it four times in dark, narrow, labyrinthian crypts which greatly hinders dodging and evasion, very important in defeating Nemesis.
Playing in expert mode - I started in hard mode, but found it too easy and never died once, so I switched to expert - in this video shows, I fought Nemesis at its strongest - accompanied by SIX shadow clones of my character, the wizard Ceylan. It was the first time I fought Nemesis in a relatively open, well-lit field instead of one those dark, hard-to-see, narrow mazes I always fought Nemesis in before. I had not friended anyone on this game, so Nemesis always invaded my game and it dropped a legendary item, as you can see in the video.
In hindsight, I may have done even better and suffered less damage had I kited Nemesis to the left/west. But, hey, I may have subconsciously wanted to take Nemesis and its minions head-on, still dodging and rolling.
For those who have played Diablo 3 on pc, can you dodge and roll to evade enemy attacks like you can on console? If Diablo 3 is similar to Torchlight 2, then I know the answer is "no." I play Torchlight 2 with keyboard and mouse and one cannot dodge and roll.
Unless Blizzard changes its mechanics, Nemesis seems like it would be a nightmare to fight on pc, it ever makes its way there.
